Komedie Actie Scott Pilgrim is een 23-jarige nonchalante goedzak uit Toronto, waar hij samenwoont met zijn beste vriend, de homo Wallace Wells. Scott speelt basgitaar in zijn eigen band 'Sex Bob-Omb' en date tot ieders afkeuring met de pas 17-jarige Chinese Knives Chau. Wanneer echter het meisje Ramona V. Flowers nieuw in de stad arriveert, is Scott tot over zijn oren verliefd. Maar om een afspraakje met haar te krijgen, moet hij de zeven kwaadaardige exen van Ramona verslaan.
